Can We Wear Out God's Love? Psalm 103:11

Is there a limit to God's love?

A child may ask how much do you love me and it is cute but the question is a serious one when we become adults, especially regarding God.

"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;" Psalm 103:11.

HIGH

We are earthbound and any reference to height, no matter if it is the top of a ladder, a building, a mountain or the heavens makes us aware of our smallness.

High as a term of measurement is unique because most other measures have limits of some sort or they change at some point such as measuring light, sound, or heat, but if Earth is a starting point and you go up you keep on going up without changing the nature of going up.

HEAVENS

It is interesting that the word Heaven is used and not sky or universe. The idea of sky or universe suggests limits but the heavens are outside our limits and this extends the concept of something that is far beyond measure.

This makes the measurement to be measureless. The expanding universe has no bounds so the direction of up or high does not have a stopping point, so we understand that there are no boundaries to God's love it is infinite

SO GREAT
With the words, "so great," the verse moves to compare the infinite measure of "ultimate up" to God's love.

These two words suggest the equality of the next subject. The psalmist could have used some other comparative term like, just as, or is the same way, or just so measureless but to say "so great" not only gives the sense of equality but a value of importance, and awesome wonder.

HIS LOVE
God is a God of love, but since it is His love it is unlike anything we know, we really have nothing to compare it to and any attempts to find a similar experience of love in human experience will fall laughably short.

FOR THOSE WHO FEAR HIM
This verse speaks lastly about our relationship with God.

To fear God is not contradictory to loving God but it is the realization of His holiness that we start to understand when we come to know Him. If you know Him you begin to respect and reverence Him.

The proof of God's love is not in words but in actions. The Apostle Paul points out that "God demonstrates his love for us in this in that while we were sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:8. God's love for us is more than a positive feeling toward us. It is a love that acts- God loved us and died to pay for our sins. Our sin is the only barrier to God's love and He took care of that at Calvary on the cross.

The world is divided into those who know and fear God and those who do not know God. If you are not confident that you are one of those who know God then CLICK HERE to read my other post about salvation.

Does Anybody See Or Care How Much I Am Going Through?

We all have hard times in life but sometimes it seems like no one sees or knows or cares what we are going through.  Will there ever be anyone who will see and understand and care?

"The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, his ears are attentive to their cry." Psalm 34:15.

EYES AND EARS
Of all the senses these two are the ones that are able to perceive from the greatest distances. You can hear a thunderclap from many miles away, and you can see a star from light years away. You may think that God is too far away; that the distance and the walls are too big for Him to overcome but this Bible verse says that is not true.

EYES ... ARE ON
The Lord's eyes are already focused on the righteous; He is already watching and seeing.  His attention is set.  There is no need to say, "Hey, God look here!" because he is looking already, no matter how far you have fallen he still sees.

EARS ARE ATTENTIVE
The Lord is already listening and He is currently paying attention, and listening for your voice.

We know that God is all-seeing and all-knowing but this verse says something more- that He is on purpose seeing you specifically and intentionally.  Not only seeing and hearing but the use of the word, attentive, suggest he is waiting for something specific from us.

OUR CRY
He is hearing our sobs and he is watching our tears, but he is waiting for us to cry out to him.  He is waiting for us to ask Him for help in a humble request.

THE RIGHTEOUS
God is the Lord and Creator of everybody but he has a special relationship with the righteous. The Bible teaches that we find righteousness in Jesus, (The Bible, Philippians 3:9).  Jesus lived a perfect life without sin and as God's only son he was able to die for the sins of the world so those who believed in him could have eternal life and righteousness, (The Bible John 3:16).

If you are struggling then cry out to the Lord and He will hear you.

If you want to know more about how to have righteousness with God and a relationship with him see my other post.

Does God Have A Purpose For Me In My Troubles?

We all feel lost and defeated at times, and some bear burdens of disappointment and hurt for years or longer.

"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies; with your right hand, you save me. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever- do not abandon the works of your hands." Psalm 138:7-8.

PURPOSE

"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me." No matter how dark the day, maybe God has a purpose, not just a plan but actions based on a desire to do something good and wonderful. The Lord's designs in your life are great.

His purpose may include...
     * Allowing you to mature as a person.
     * Allowing you to grow in faith.
     * Allowing you to know God in a better way.
     * To prepare you for the opportunity to serve Him and others.
     * To prepare you for some blessing to come.
     * It may be some purpose that is uniquely personal to you.

LOVE

You may wonder why you must go through tough times but remember that God's love "endures forever." His plans are tempered by love so that He does not give you more than you can endure and only enough to do His goodwill in the long run.

God's love is not mushy feelings, but it is commitment and action; it gives Himself completely to you and more. His love does not end, and our circumstances do not change His love for us.

FEELINGS

You may feel like God has forgotten and abandoned you, but that is not the fact. The author of these verses may have felt the same when he wrote: "do not abandon the works of your hands." God does not forget, nor does He turn away from you.

WORK OF HIS HANDS

You are the work of His hands, so He has ownership over you and your life; acknowledging ownership declares submission to His kingship. You are not only the work of His hands, but you are in His hands, so you may rest there by faith.

PRAYER

Like the psalmist, you can pray to God and voice your despair. Cling to God and say, "Do not abandon the works of Your hands." Ask Him to finish His work in you. Trust yourself to His love, rest in His hands, and wait for this time to pass. God has a purpose for the sorrows you face, it is a loving purpose, and He will not abandon you.

What Do We Need From God? Psalm 103:8

We need God to be righteous, all-powerful, all-wise, and those other lofty theological truths, but is there one thing above all else we need from God?

"The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love." Psalm 103:8. NIV.

COMPASSION

Compassion is merciful, tender, understanding, and sympathetic. Compassion takes the other person's situation to heart, and with consideration, purposefully cares and intentionally acts on the other's behalf.

GRACIOUS

Grace brings compassion into action. To say that the Lord is "gracious" is to say God acts out His love in kindness and good to someone who does not deserve it.

SLOW TO ANGER

We would be in trouble if God had a short temper. Our sins all add up to a dreadful stench before His Holy nature. If God was only righteousness, He would have condemned us long ago, but thankfully He is "slow to anger."

Being slow to anger does not mean he never gets angry- He does. We should not presume on the slowness of God's anger, for His wrath is great indeed.  His slowness is to allow us to turn to him.

ABOUNDING IN LOVE

The Lord's love is beyond measure and too vast to comprehend. His love is like an ocean that would flood over the highest mountains. His love is bigger than any problem you may have, and his love is bigger than any sin we may have done.

FAR FROM LOVE

We sometimes feel far from that God of compassion.  He has never left us, but we may have distanced ourselves from him by rebellion, sin, apathy, or we let other things crowd out our relationship with Him.  We must remember God, pray, repent, and return to God who has abounding Love.

We need the God of Love.  If you do not have a relationship with God through His Son, Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again in triumph, then you can't appreciate or possess this God; but only a fearful prospect that you might have worn out his patience and may receive his anger.  Only those who have received salvation by faith in Jesus and what he did for us can truly appreciate God's, wonderful love.

Has God Given Up On Me?

Sometimes we feel that God has given up on us, we feel our mistakes, choices or actions have caused God to abandon us.

"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever, Do not abandon the works of your hand." Psalm 138:8.

THE LORD
First, remember the Lord is the sovereign, author, and master of all; so He is able to be the one who is working to a good purpose.

WILL
This is possibly the strongest word in the verse. The "Lord will," The All-mighty can be counted on; he will do what he has planned because he is all-knowing.  He will succeed because he is all-powerful; He will not give up because he is all patient. He will fulfill his purpose, God never fails.

PURPOSE
We may not know his purpose but God has a plan. There is not a maybe or let's wait and see what happens. You can be confident when it comes to God and His purpose.

FOR ME
No matter who you are, what you have or haven't done, and no matter what are your gifts, or lack of gifts, God has a specific purpose for you.

LOVE
God's purpose is bound in his love, so because he loves us we can trust in his purpose. We may feel that God's love has left us but his love endures forever. His love is not weaker than our mistakes or our problems if his love endures forever it must be stronger than any problem we can throw at it.

THE PRAYER
"Do not abandon the works of your hand." is a prayer where the psalmist shows he is in one accord with the purpose of God. As a plea, it shows submission to God's will.

This prayer acknowledges that man is the work of the hand of the Creator.  It is an expression of intimacy with the one who made us. God made heaven and earth with his word of command but when he made mankind he formed man of the dust. This suggests that man was created with greater care and intimacy than the galaxies. We are the work of his hand in many ways.

We know God is good and all-powerful, we know he has a perfect plan for each of us; but when we doubt we can follow the example of this verse and pray that he will not abandon or give up on us.

What Does The Bible Say To Do About Anxiety?

Sometimes we feel that the weight of our anxiety is a huge dark burden that is slowly smothering our existence. Is there anything we can do? Can the Bible offer help?

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7. NIV.

CAST
This is a word we do not use often. It can mean throw, as in throw away, it can mean give away, or turn away. It is an action. The action is to get rid of something completely and in a way that involves separation like throwing something.

To cast something just doesn't happen, it requires a decision and an action. You must grasp the thing and cast it.

It is not a little toss but a determined and mighty throw to get it as far from you as possible.

ALL
"All" is everything. Sometimes in the life of faith, we pray and bring everything to God but keep back some little detail and think we can handle that one; but all is the whole thing with every detail and little part.

ANXIETY
Anxiety is the same as worry or care. Worry is an insult to an All-Powerful God. Worry says we doubt his power or his ability. Anxiety says God cannot be trusted; that somehow he who can create the universe in seven days, can't create a solution for our problem.

HIM
We must remember the most important person in the reference verse it is not us and our worries it is him who still storms, raises the dead, opens seas for his people, walks through the flames with his faithful, shuts the mouth of lions, commands angels, and rules all time and space. We should focus not on our worries but on our All-Powerful God.

BECAUSE
The Apostle Peter could have listed any number of reasons to give our anxieties to God but he chose to the one supreme reason to cast our care on him- it is that he loves us. His love for us is beyond measure. He loves us so much that he sent his one and only son to pay for our sin, (John 3:16). If he loves us so much as to give his son to bring us to himself; there is nothing he won't do for us.*

Are There Limits To God's Care?

When life goes badly we ask ourselves, "Does God care for us? Did his care get worn out? Have we become unworthy of his care?"

"As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore." Psalm 125:2, NIV.

MOUNTAINS
God's care surrounds us like a mountain range. The mountains that surround Jerusalem have been a formidable defense for thousands of years. Few armies have been able to navigate and cross their barrier.   From Jerusalem you can see the mountains on each side; they never move they are always there, just like God's love.

SURROUNDS
The Lord goes ahead of us and brings up the rear; he is beside us with protection on every side, there is no flank that is not covered by his care and protection. No enemy can surprise us from a hidden place beyond the corner of our eye for the Lord is there. He is behind us, nothing can sneak up and find an unguarded rear.

NOW
He preceded us in time so he knows what we will face long before we do- and since he is here ahead of us we can be confident he has prepared the way for us to go through it. God cares for us already we do not need to buy it, earn it or merit it. He already loves us, it is clearly seen when he gave his son for us while we were far from righteous.

FOREVERMORE
This is a double word it is not just forever it is forevermore. It is like forever and beyond, or forever without boundaries. It is a forever that we can't do anything about; we can't break it or shorten it, or in any way change our relationship to it. It is like forever and everything more going on past all measure.

HIS PEOPLE
There are some people that God calls his people, this also suggests that there are some that God does not call his people. He is inviting people to leave the ways of the world and come to him.* God often calls people to come to him. We are far from God because of our sins, but God has given his son to pay for our sin's judgment so we can have a relationship with him as a gift which he gives to those who believe and receive the gift of life.

God's love and care are without boundaries, it can't diminish or fade, but we can reject it and fail to experience it. God loves you if you have not yet received his gift of eternal life and want to know more follow this link: Click Here.

Encouragement From The Bible For The Barren Woman 1 Samuel 1:27

No one can really offer counsel to the hurt a woman feels when she is struggling to have a child to love and hold. No one else can feel the pain she feels- it is a very private grief. I do not wish to be trite or to belittle the deep hurt but in love to offer a few words of hope from the Bible.

"And she said to him, 'As surely as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. I prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord.  For his whole life, he will be given over to the Lord.'  And he worshiped the Lord there." 1 Samuel 1:26-28. NIV.

BACKGROUND
The story of Hanna is familiar, she was one of two wives, and she was taunted by the other wife for being without a child. Hanna prayed silently at the Tabernacle, pouring out her heart for the Lord to show mercy to her and give her a child. She promised to give the child to the Lord's service. God chose to honor her prayer and gave her a son, and incredibly, she keeps her promise when the child is weaned, she drops him off at the Tabernacle to serve God. That son of Hanna's became a great prophet, maybe the greatest in the Old Testament, and God gave Hanna other children.

HANNA
Hanna was truly an awesome woman and there are few like her. She walked humbly with God. She prayed earnestly and in details expressed her grief to the Lord. She kept her vow and gave her son to the Lord.

GOD
When you are hurting, people say these platitudes over and over, and they sound empty and old, but they are true. We don't understand why God does what he does, but we do know that God loves us, he is good, and his actions in our lives are wise. Hanna's resolution of trust in God, whatever the outcome, illustrates to all of us what faith is.

God may in his wisdom deny the prayer for a child. No one has all the answers for why he does for some and not for others. Hanna's example of pleading devoted prayer offers hope for the soul. We do not need to bear our hurts alone but can bring them to one who will gladly lift them. Consider Hanna's example and pour out your heart to the Lord.

A Prayer:
Father in Heaven,
How we long for the day when our pain will be taken away,
When we dwell not in sorrows but in the joy of your kingdom.
You know my pain and understand it far better than I do.
You understand the disappointment and sorrow.
I do not understand why this has happened,
Except we live in a fallen world.
Hear my plea for your grace and show me your loving mercy.
May You be for me that which I have not found.
I bring my hopes, and dreams, my pain, and sorrow to you,
and present them to the cross where the blood of Jesus' love covers all.
I accept on faith from your peace and the beginning of healing.
I accept that your will for me is wise and good even though I do not understand.
Thank you, God, for your love.
Thank you that you see and know and care.

Why Christians Feel the World is Against Them? 1 John 3:1

Why do Christians feel like outcasts in their own communities? Christian values are mocked and if the faithful try to fit in they feel like they have compromised their faith. If believers try to change the world it only makes enemies.

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him." 1 John 3:1, NIV.

LAVISHED LOVE
The love the Father has for us is unimaginable and measureless. It is a love that He "lavishes," that He pours out in great quantity to a measure that far exceeds the merit.

US
Who does He lavish this great love on? It is us, the sinful, rebellious, traitorous people who crucified his son. God does not just lavish his love on us he goes beyond; The Lord gives us a title that means everything, "the children of God."

DIVISION
There is a division in humanity, a division between those who have come to God through his Son and those who have not. He says those that have not yet come to Jesus do not know God and therefore do not know His children. This knowing is not just an intellectual acknowledgment like when you recognize a face, but knowing as if you are in the same family household. This is a knowing that is an ongoing, growing, mutual, intimate, understanding that leads to love and service.

We don't fit into the world is because the world does not know Him like this; it rejects Christ and his claims and must reject his followers. A Christian actively living his faith in Jesus becomes a statement the world must respond to, and there are only two responses that make sense- rejection or conversion.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
That the world rejects us is small compared to the love the Father has lavished on us. This world is decaying and passing away before our eyes, trying to find acceptance in it is to share its fate; but another that is without end is going to be revealed and that is a far better possession than anything this world has to offer.

If you have trusted Jesus as your savior you are a child of God and have already left this world behind. You are His and are joined in His fate here on earth and his glory in heaven. To learn more about finding Jesus see my other blog.

What Puts God in Your Debt? Proverbs 19:17

What if you could do something that would put God in your debt, or earn God's gratitude?

"He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord. He will repay him for what he has done." Proverbs 19:17.

GOD THE FATHER
God is all-loving. He loves people great and little, wise and foolish. If God loves people and you are kind to people, (who God loves), then you are doing something kind to God.  God is the Creator and Father of us all, so if you are kind to a person He created you show kindness to God.  If a child is in trouble and someone helps the child the parents are extremely grateful.  Apply this to the verse above; we are all God's children, if we are kind to the ones who are less fortunate the Father, Creator and Lord will appreciate it- even be grateful.

In the entire universe, only human beings have the opportunity to show kindness to those God loves, only human beings may lend to the Lord in this way.

WHY THE POOR
God does not need our charity; He is not in trouble and looking for a handout. I t grieves us to see misfortune come, and hard to understand why God allows it, but misfortune gives context for good and gives good the opportunity to manifest itself as we respond in kindness. Because there are poor we have the opportunity to show kindness to the poor and hereby to show kindness to God.

LENDS
Would God default on a debt?  To ask is foolish.  God will be no man's debtor and He will pay back abundantly.  Yet for God to pay back our kindness to those less fortunate is gracious for we should be kind to those in need out of love and compassion.  It should be enough motivation that our kindness is done to those who our Savior loved and died for, and if God pays that kindness back it is to His credit not ours.

PEOPLE
Since God cherishes people we should too, if you love God you will take care to cherish and respect the things God loves- meaning people. If God loves that poor person who is digging through the trash for his dinner then that alone should be enough reason for us to act on their behalf.

ACT
The words above "is kind" directly points to the word "is done." though this verse reveals a truth about God it is really a verse about actions taken. Let us look for the opportunities to do actions of kindness to others for we are not rewarded until we are done.

Forgiveness is not so simple. Psalm 103: 9, 10.

We say God’s ways are not our ways, but what are God’s ways, and what do they tell us about God?

“He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve, or repay us according to our iniquities.” Psalm 103:9, 10. NIV.

What hope these words offer! God is a God of forgiveness, not causal forgiveness but mercy on many levels; His accusations cease, His anger abates, His actions are amended, and our iniquities are voided out.

ANGER
We are shocked to read that God does have anger. We want God to be the wonderful mushy grandfather in the sky who gives gifts to the good and winks at the bad. Yet, God does have anger at the wrongs we do, the sins we commit, and the good we neglect to do. He would be cheap if it were otherwise.

ACCUSE
What good news that God “will not always accuse.”  God sees every wrong we do, and if He wished, God could call us into judgment whenever He wanted. He is our creator and father and has the right to require the fidelity of mankind, and as Lord of the universe, He is right to condemn our sin and us. To say God “will not always accuse” suggest there is a time when accusation and judgment will cease, and our guilt will be erased.

MERCY
God is not like us, we harbor anger or carry a grudge for decades until it taints every relationship and act, even to our own injury, but God does not bear a vindictive grudge forever. He does not treat us as our sins deserve or according to our iniquities. If he did, we would all be lost long ago. Each day we live, we do so as a testament to His mercy, forgiveness, and His Grace.

HOW?
How is it that “God will not Harbor His anger forever?” God’s anger is vented somewhere on someone or something. The Bible reveals that God spent His wrath on His Son Jesus on the cross. He placed our sin on His Holy Son and vented His just anger against those sins there. Not only was the fury of the wrath of God against our sin exhausted on Jesus, but He also offers eternal life to any who accept His Son’s sacrifice on their behalf. He did this for us, and we can say, “Indeed He does not treat us as our sins deserve.”

Where is The Proof Of An All Loving God? Romans 5: 7, 8.

Does God love mankind? Where is the proof of an all loving God?

“Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:7, 8. NIV.

NOT BEAUTIFUL
When it comes to love we love the beautiful, noble and worthy. The daily news demonstrates that man is not beautiful, but evil. Man has a problem- a wicked nature, call it “sin,” but being sinners we don’t like the word “sin” so we call it something else, a disorder, or an illness; which implies we can fix or cure it.

Yet generations of medicine and science has failed to expunge the nature of sin and its power in our private lives. If we could fix this problem we will fix war, famine, health care, poverty and all other evils. We try to fix sin with programs, rules, laws and efforts; but they are no better than the flawed humans who devise them.

GOD LOVES THE UGLY
But God loves us even in our ugly, sinful, evil, and wicked ways, and so addresses this sin issue. He begins with our most basic need- forgiveness. This means our sin must be taken away, and the threat of punishment removed.

It is in full view of our wickedness that God makes a way, for it says, "While we were still sinners Christ died for us." Before we were redeemable God redeems us. He does what we can’t do. He sees our need for salvation and forgiveness and since we can’t attain it ourselves God makes the full provision for it. He Himself pays for our sin and erases the threat of judgment forever. God didn't wait for us to become righteous or good and this is great news because we never could be.

LOVED TO DEATH
Only Christ can deliver us from sin. The death of Jesus as our substitute for punishment succeeds. Only Jesus’ death is ratified by God and endorsed via the resurrection. His death is the ultimate expression of love. Whatever our sins are we can be assured of God’s love for us since He already demonstrated it on the Cross.

Could God’s Love Satisfy my Deepest Need? Psalm 90: 14

We are always trying to get our needs fulfilled. Our economy and culture is driven by selling satisfaction. The marketplace will create a need if to sell something. But where is our deepest need satisfied?

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Pslam 90:14

SATISFY
Nothing satisfies our longing hearts except Gods love. To "satisfy" means to fulfill a need, or meet a condition, or cause contentment. The Lord's love is all of this, and this is just the beginning of the depths of His love.

MORNING
This verse has two references to time, first is "morning." Morning is a beginning, and we should begin our day reflecting on God and his love. No matter how busy our day will be we should always start with Bible reading and prayer. It may also refer to our time here on earth.

UNFAILING
Our Father's love is truly "unfailing."We may fail Him but He won’t fail us. His love is stronger than any circumstance or action. It is a love of commitment bound by the very character of God. His love is unfailing because He himself is unfailing.

JOY
"Joy" and "gladness" are not the same as happiness. Happiness is a word derived from happening; it is a word that refers to the enjoyment of a circumstance or event. Joy is the reflection of an internal source; it comes from the Holy Spirit given to us at salvation. Happiness comes and goes with the mood but joy and gladness are from God.

ALL OUR DAYS
The second reference to time is all our days. Our Heavenly Father's love causes us to sing for joy without end. The joy and gladness that He gives has promise forever; heaven is a place of joy and gladness. This prayer starts on earth and ends in heaven.

OUR DEEPEST NEED- LOVE
Our Father demonstrated love when He entered our world as Jesus and died to pay for our sins so that he barrier of sin may be removed between him and us. If you have not found joy in God’s love it may be that you need to pray and accept His offer of salvation. If Jesus is your Savior and you still feel no joy and gladness in his love it may be that you have been looking for that satisfaction in some other way. Pray the prayer of this verse and seek satisfaction only in His Love.

Will God's Love For You Change? Psalm 89:2

As children we learn that God loves us but a lifetime is not sufficient to comprehend its magnitude and beauties. The ancient poet wrote...

“I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.” Psalm 89: 2, NIV.
DECLARE
To “declare” something is to make it known or announce it. The author of this psalm felt he must declare its truths. It sounds like he would have shouted it from the rooftops.

STANDS FIRM
God’s love doesn't just “stand,” it “stands firm;” and not just firm, but stands firm forever. To “stand” is to be bold, to oppose an obstacle without moving. The opposite is to fall and God’s love doesn't fall: it endures against all opponents.

FIRM
Something that is firm will not move, it holds in place. There is not even a wiggle, tremor or shaking to suggest weakness in God’s love. It is not taken away or changed by circumstances or our actions.

It is not temporary and does not decay but last forever, time does not make The Almighty's love weaken.

FAITHFUL
When someone is faithful they are unwavering and constant; they can be trusted to always be the same. God’s faithfulness means his love will not be diluted by time or events other affections. God’s faithfulness is not an accident. God committed himself to faithfulness by an act of will. His faithfulness is not emotional but willful. He knew what sins we would commit and yet He resolved to give us his love and faithfulness.

ESTABLISHED
That God’s love is "established in heaven" reaffirms that His love as immovable and unchangeable. "Heaven" is the essence of permanence. Since The Lord's love is established in heaven, its foundations are not in the world or my actions; earth may move and decay, time may pass, and humanity may go mad but nothing can diminish God’s love because it is “established in heaven." To be “established in heaven" is the ultimate security there is nothing higher or more firm.
